Lifestyle Medicine involves the use of evidence-based, lifestyle interventions as the primary means to prevent, treat and often reverse chronic diseases using:

  • Regular physical activity

  • Restorative sleep

  • Avoidance of risky substances

  • Positive social connections

Lifestyle Medicine physicians assist patients in achieving their health goals by giving them tools to be successful, while continuing to use conventional medications and procedures as second line agents for treatment.  Lifestyle Medicine is best seen as the foundation for conventional medicine and focuses on patients taking responsibility for their health and integrating lifestyle changes as the first step in treating disease.

A conventional physician might ask, “What medications do we need to add to control this patient’s disease?” while a LM physician would ask, “What lifestyle changes can we make to reverse this disease so the patient no longer needs the medication?”

Our goal at Sozo is to create a large community of members working towards the common goal of becoming and staying healthy. In addition to medical and counseling offices, our facility offers a community room for classes and a small on-site gym for training and workouts.
